About the event

Join us for this family-friendly spring walk. Learn how to look and listen for nesting and migrating birds in the woods, prairies, and waters.


Meet at the Cherokee Marsh North Unit parking lot area. Restrooms are available at the park. Dress for the weather. Free, welcoming, educational. No registration required. No pets. Kids under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Trails are gravel or grass but may be muddy. Some metal boardwalks.

Cherokee Marsh is the largest wetland in Dane County, Wisconsin. The marsh is located just upstream from Lake Mendota, along the Yahara River and Token Creek.
