2024 Master Naturalist trainees visit Cherokee Marsh

Writer's picture: Sheila Leary Sheila Leary

On July 27, this year’s trainee class of Wisconsin Master Naturalists visited Cherokee Marsh for rotating sessions with experts on reptiles, amphibians, mammals, soils and geology, and nature arts for kids. Master Naturalist trainings are coordinated throughout the state by the University of Wisconsin Extension, and this Madison course is organized by Madison FUN–Friends of Urban Nature.

One of the trainees, Steve Davis, is conducting a snake survey at the Cherokee Marsh North Unit. If you encounter a sheet of plywood on the ground in the park, do not disturb! It’s part of Steve’s survey.
